Every now and then a client asks a reasonable question.
“Can you do this too?”
Sometimes that request is just slightly outside my scope. Other times, it is fully outside my specialty. And here is the part that matters. Just because I can do something does not mean I should.
Sure, I could slap together a WordPress theme. I have done it before. But when I know deep down that a client would get a significantly better result with someone who specializes in that exact thing, I say it. No ego. No chasing extra dollars. No pretending.
That exact situation came up recently.
When Referrals Matter More Than Control
A client needed a new website. Not a quick patch job. A real, professional site that could support paid traffic and conversions properly.
I told them the truth. They needed a dedicated web developer.
They got referred to one.
The developer did a solid job.
Everything was fine until the pivot.
The web guy also mentioned that he “runs ads.”
He suggested doing a split test.
Said it would only cost $5 a day.
Promised it would drive traffic.
If you run paid ads for a living, you already know where this is going.
Traffic Is Easy. Conversions Are Not.
Running ads is not about turning traffic on. It is about intent, optimization, and conversion data. Anyone can send clicks. Very few people can turn those clicks into sales consistently.
Here is what happened next.
The top campaign belonged to them.
The bottom two campaigns were mine.
My average cost per sale typically sits around $150 to $160 depending on the vertical. In this case, I cut that number down even further by using Advantage Plus campaigns built on real conversion data, not guesses.
Their campaigns produced zero sales.
Not fewer sales.
Not higher costs.
Zero.
The Difference Between “Running Ads” and Running Ads
This is the part most people miss.
Running ads is not about saying you do it.
It is about understanding buying intent, platform automation, creative testing, and post click behavior.
Advantage Plus works when you actually feed it real signals.
Sales. Leads. Qualified actions.
If you are just sending traffic because it is cheap, you are not running ads. You are renting attention with no return.
I run this shit because this is what I do every day. I do not treat it like an add on service. I do not guess. I do not test blindly. I let data do the talking.
The Real Moral of the Story
If I think someone can do a better job at something than me, I say it.
That honesty builds trust, not weakness.
What I do not do is chase every vertical to look full service.
I do not pretend.
I do not sell vibes.
I stay in my lane because mastery compounds.
And results always expose the difference between someone who “runs ads” and someone who actually runs them.
If you want traffic, anyone can help you.
If you want conversions, that is a different conversation.
That is the Get Me SEO difference.
